McVitie’s will be launching a consumer collect and reward scheme based around their biscuits, such as Jaffa Cakes, for consumers to be rewarded for their loyalty to their brands. The scheme, which will be called the ‘McVitie’s VIP Club’, is their first ever consumer scheme of its kind and aims to give something back to their consumers for choosing their brands.

It’s not often that the print industry can be blamed for the expanding waistlines of local residents, but print companies in Coatbridge are responsible, it seems, for the health of the local community – at least according to Tom Maginnis, a
Coatbridge West councillor.
The problem is that Coatbridge has just been named as the fattest town in Britain. This unwelcome accolade came after research showed that 21% of all Coatbridge residents are obese, that’s just over one fifth of the town.

PPA praise for quality of school magazine publishing

All kinds of printing companies in and around Coatbridge, including brochure printers and magazine printers, will be aware of the PPA. The Periodical Publishers Association evolved into its present form on 29th August 1967 when other periodical publishers associations merged into one body. The PPA is now one of the UK’s largest and most effective trade associations.
PPA Scotland is the association’s Scottish arm and it recently named The Dumfries & Galloway Life as Scottish Magazine of the Year in 2009. They also presented an award for the best PPA Scottish School Magazine. The quality of school magazines being printed in Scotland is now very high and makes the judging extremely difficult. Health and safety event in Coatbridge

Health and safety experts, Medway Safety, have organised an event which will take place on Wednesday 13th January 2010 at the HSS Supercentre in Coatbridge.
They call it the Silica Awareness Event which will be part of their Working Well Together series. The event is organised in conjunction with HSS Hire, who are providing a breakfast butty, as well as tea and coffee, for attendees.
The event deals with health and safety issues that will concern small companies, for example, typical small printing companies in Coatbridge.
