Specsavers was ready for England’s World Cup exit
July 7, 2010 by Michael
It seems that Optician retailer Specsavers had anticipated England’s early defeat at the World Cup and was ready with a campaign to cash in creatively on our departure from the football competition. Specsavers’ campaign creative used humour in its advertisement and focused on England’s disallowed goal in their final match against Germany, which ended in England’s defeat as they crashed out of the World Cup losing 4-1, before even reaching the quarter finals.
Specsavers’ in house creative agency devised the strap line “Goal line technology…. from £25” with an image of Specsavers glasses. The advertisement was devised for press and had to be ready in time to make the deadlines for the national papers, including The Sun, the Daily Mail and the Daily Star a few days later. Missing print deadlines can be a costly [Read more]

June 26, 2010 by Gareth
Print companies in Ware who supply direct mail materials for businesses in the area may see an increase in orders following the news that the Royal Mail has launched a new online mail service for marketers. Marketers who are looking to send out unaddressed mail campaigns will be able to use the Royal Mail’s new service called ‘Customer Finder’ which will be offered online and should make it easier for advertisers to streamline their campaign data to meet certain requirements.

Hertfordshire poster intrigue
May 28, 2010 by Gareth
The Hemel Gazette is reporting the story of a mystery artist who has created a poster that is being seen by thousands of motorists every day in the area, with the cryptic message “Do you want flat roads and clean Women? Vote Tophe”. The poster is tied to the side of the magic roundabout in Hemel Hempstead, ensuring that this locally famous landmark gives the most high profile location to the mystery artist’s message and reaches as many people as possible.
This is not the first of the posters to appear in the area. Posters first began appearing following bad weather in the region which left roads in a state, with several potholes. The initial posters were displayed on Hemel Hempstead’s Leighton Buzzard Road with the message to motorists reading “Hertfordshire Council Pothole Slalom Course”, to warn them of the hazards on the [Read more]

Hertfordshire print firms seeking growth in 2010
February 19, 2010 by Gareth
Printing companies around Hertfordshire, for example the stationery printers in Ware or the business card printers in Hatfield, will be looking for ways to increase turnover in 2010. Whilst this remains one of the major business challenges facing printing companies, it is now even more difficult to achieve due to the present economic climate.
A printing company in Hertfordshire, Falkland Press, is looking to increase its turnover to £2 million this year.
